Our client, a full service, super-regional law firm, is seeking a local government attorney to join their growing team in Roanoke, VA. The firm offers top of the market compensation, excellent benefits, and a collaborative work environment. 

Responsibilities 

• Defending local governments and public employees in federal and state courts. 

• Advising clients on compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including federal grant, public procurement, Freedom of Information Act, sunshine laws, and Conflict of Interests Act compliance. 

Requirements 

• 4-6 years of experience either in-house or with a private practice. 

• JD from an accredited law school. 

• Admitted and in good standing with the Virginia bar. 

• Experience working with public bodies and local government administrators is preferred. 

• Self-starter who thrives in an independent environment and as part of team.
