Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 5+ years of prior Insurance Defense experience, preferably with prior experience in handling Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Personal Injury, and/or Wrongful Death claims.
Their Paralegals strive to perform high-quality billable work for the benefit of our clients and the support of our attorneys. We expect our paralegals to provide a high level of expertise in assisting clients and attorneys while managing a busy case and/or matter load.
Primary Responsibilities
Demonstrated effectiveness at obtaining and managing client documents, including electronic data, and determining the potential existence of documents that may be relevant to each case.
Regularly conduct litigation, criminal, and civil background checks and obtain properly authenticated records as needed.
Consistently and accurately identified and prepared all documents for production, including Bates labeling and redacting for privileged and confidential information.
Effectively assists in preparation for trial, including managing exhibits and all evidentiary matters, witness lists, files and subpoenas, coordinates and attends witness prep meetings; assists at trial.
Conducts online research and can utilize the firm’s electronic resources efficiently and effectively.
Able to juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor and seeking assistance when needed.
Summarize medical records, bills, and supporting documents, as well as create medical chronologies and bill summaries.
Communicate with clients, carriers, and counsel effectively in a team environment.
Works closely with retained expert witness to include review of qualifications, selection, retention and serve as a general liaison between our firm and retained experts.
Reviews and ensures accuracy of vendor invoices; timely submits invoices to Accounting for processing.

Minimum Qualifications
College Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from ABA Approved Program.
Florida Registered Paralegal preferred.
Trial Experience preferred.
A minimum of five years of experience is required.
